HOBOKEN HOUSING AUTHORITY ACQUIRES FUNDING TO RENOVATE FOX HILL SENIOR/DISABLED BUILDING

The Hoboken Housing Authority (HHA) is proud to announce the conversion of the 200-unit Fox Hill Gardens senior and disabled development, located at 311 13th Street in Hoboken, NJ to a federally known program called Rental Assistance Demonstration, otherwise known as RAD.

Fox Hill is the first HHA site to transfer its funding stream to the RAD Program from the traditional Public Housing funding.

The conversion utilizes the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD)Rental

Assistance Demonstration (RAD)program, a broad-range effort to preserve federally-subsidized

affordable housing. RAD is helping to address the capital backlog in the public housing program through leveraging the private sector to preserve affordable housing, serve more eligible households, and maximize the impact of scarce federal resources. Utilization of the RAD program by HHA will provide long-term financial stability needed to preserve, maintain, and improve Fox Hill Gardens for the benefit of all families living at Fox Hill Gardens.

The improvements that will be made possible by this transition will include kitchen cabinet replacement, painting, significant exterior façade repairs, curtain wall repairs including insulation updates, appliance replacement, and plumbing and electrical fixture updates. Most importantly, the conversion to the RAD Program will assure that Fox Hill Gardens remains a quality home for all of our valued families now and into the future.
