Public Housing was established to provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. The U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development provudes guidance, support and a sub city for local public housing operation.
The Housing Authority is committed in serving the needs of individuals, the elderly and families no one local community. The Housing Choice Voucher also known as Section 8 provide financial assistance to eligible low income individuals and families in the community.
The Rental Assistance Demonstation Program is Hoboken Housing Authority’s key instrument for sustainability, stabilization, rehabilitation and new construction. This year the RAD Program is securing $2.5 million for improvements at our senior/disable site FoxHill gardens.
Having a place to live is a basic need for everyone. Yet, for some people it remains out of reach. Public housing serves approximately 2.2 million people across the U.S., but the need is much greater; more than half a million people are on waiting lists.
