Public Housing

Public Housing was established to provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. The U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development provudes guidance, support and a sub city for local public housing operation.

Assisted Housing

The Housing Authority is committed in serving the needs of individuals, the elderly and families no one local community. The Housing Choice Voucher also known as Section 8 provide financial assistance to eligible low income individuals and families in the community.

RAD Program

The Rental Assistance Demonstation Program is Hoboken Housing Authority’s key instrument for sustainability, stabilization, rehabilitation and new construction. This year the RAD Program is securing $2.5 million for improvements at our senior/disable site FoxHill gardens.

Having a place to live is a basic need for everyone. Yet, for some people it remains out of reach. Public housing serves approximately 2.2 million people across the U.S., but the need is much greater; more than half a million people are on waiting lists.

HOPES Back to School Thursday August 22, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. join HOPES at Mama Johnson Field for the 2019 Back to School Event. Families will be provided with backpacks and school supplies. There will also be games and fun activities for al our kids.
The New Jersey Reentry Corporation will be at HHA on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the Harrison Gardens Courtyard for engagement, employment/training information, resource, services and support. We invite all our residents, the Hoboken community and surrounding neighboring cities.

Next Basket wins @ HHA This past Saturday, a local basketball company Next Basket Wins run by HHA commissioner Andrew Impastato ran a FREE to enter Youth 3on3 Basketball tournament at the Hoboken Housing Authority basketball court. With a live DJ for entertainment, over 80 diverse youth participated from all over Hoboken from ages 8-16. Councilwoman Falco donated gift cards for the winning teams.
HHA hosted The Kids Dream Big Foundation Flag Football at Mama JohnsonbField. Next scheduled game is May 30, 2019 starting at 7 PM. Come and enjoy
